Meadowood sets the culinary world stage with 12 Days of Christmas
The Restaurant at Meadowood has unveiled its 2015 lineup for its annual guest chef series, the Twelve Days of Christmas.
In recent years, the event has become a global attraction, and the 2015 lineup is no exception, chocked full of Michelin stars and then some:
Day 1: Friday, December 4:
Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park, New York
Day 2: Saturday, December 5:
Nenad Mlinarevic of focus, Switzerland
Day 3: Tuesday, December 8:
Christian Puglisi of Relæ, Copenhagen
Day 4: Wednesday, December 9:
Jorge Vallejo of Quintonil, Mexico City
Day 5: Thursday, December 10:
Joshua Skenes of Saison, San Francisco
Day 6: Friday, December 11:
Matt Wilkinson of Pope Joan, Melbourne
Day 7: Saturday, December 12:
Kim Floresca and Daniel Ryan of [ONE] restaurant, Chapel Hill, NC
Day 8: Tuesday, December 15:
Isaac McHale of The Clove Club, London
Day 9: Wednesday, December 16:
Kyle Connaughton and Katina Connaughton of Single Thread (opening fall 2015), Healdsburg, CA
Day 10: Thursday, December 17:
Atsushi Tanaka of Restaurant A.T, Paris
Day 11: Friday, December 18:
Justin Yu of Oxheart Restaurant, Houston, TX
Day 12: Saturday, December 19:
Christopher Kostow of The Restaurant at Meadowood, Saint Helena
A few things of note with the lineup: Kostow worked for Humm back in the Campton Place days, so the first night is a bit of a reunion for the two chefs, and the North Carolina duo of Floresca and Ryan both worked at Meadowood several years ago, so that night is a homecoming of sorts. (Also, Floresca is one of two women on the list.)
Seven countries are represented, and as are two Bay Area restaurants: Saison in San Francisco and the forthcoming Single Thread in Healdsburg.
Once again, some of the proceeds will go to Napa charity: The Holly Cranston Memorial Fund, which helps children with disabilities and their families; and the Napa Emergency Women’s Services (NEWS), which helps women and children suffering from domestic violence. Meadowood will donate $2,000 from each dinner, plus 10 percent of every dinner ticket sold, to be shared equally between the local charities.
